We are a decentralized exchange (DEX). In order to make it appealing for investors to provide liquidity, which is essential for investors investors to trade, users pay a <mark style="color:orange;">**0.2% fee**</mark> whenever they make a buy or sell on the DEX.

#### **From that trading fee**&#x20;

<mark style="color:orange;">**0.17%**</mark> is returned to liquidity pools as a reward for liquidity providers&#x20;

<mark style="color:orange;">**0.03%**</mark> goes to the KnightSwap Treasury

Liquidity providers earn their proportionate share of the trading fees regardless of whether their LP is held in their wallet, placed into our farms, or placed into our auto-compounders.

The 0.17% makes the liquidity pool bigger (which helps the project you are providing liquidity for guard against volatility & allow for safer trading).&#x20;

Your LP tokens represent a % of the pool of the 2 assets you deposited in. If you do decide to break your LP, you'll get the same % back of a pie that's grown in the meantime.&#x20;

You will not see the # of LP tokens you have go up because of it&#x20;

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knights.gitbook.io/knightswap/the-castle/exchange.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
